I hope this is true because we just looove fried green tomatoes in Kentucky.
[Democratic Congressman John] Yarmuth says, “I think [Ashley Judd is] very interested in becoming a candidate for some office whether it’s next year against Mitch McConnell or it’s against Rand Paul whether it’s for some other office I don’t know, but she’s a very serious potential candidate.”
Regular readers know that I don’t care (even a little bit) for Rand Paul as a politician. I opposed his candidacy and wrote in the name of a conservative for U.S. Senate in 2012 rather than vote for his libertarianism. Having said that, by doggies, Rand Paul said it best about Ashley Judd’s potential candidacy here:
“She’s way damn too liberal for our country, for our state.” “She hates our biggest industry, which is coal. I say, good luck bringing the ‘I hate coal’ message to Kentucky.”
There is no…way she could win a statewide race here over either Mitch McConnell or Rand Paul. Rand Paul started out his campaign as a staunch libertarian. His campaign claimed early on that they were not concerned about reaching out to Christian voters here in Kentucky. That changed in about a week, after it became clear to them that you can’t win here without the Christian vote.
CLICK HERE for video of Ashley Judd taking a position to the LEFT of Barack Obama on wolf hunting. Apparently, she’d rather they starve to death, or die from disease, due to overpopulation than to allow anyone to hunt them. Judd isn’t interested in population management. She’s interested in no one ever shooting a wolf, ever, for any reason….because their puppies are cute. If you live anywhere near Rand Paul and me, you know that the wolf campaign alone is enough to sink her chances here.
Need I remind you that in the 2012 Democratic primary, “Uncommitted” beat Barack Obama in half of Kentucky. Statewide, Obama garnered 58% of the vote while “Uncommitted” received 42%……..of registered Democrats, folks.
Liberalism does not work here. To win as a Democrat statewide, you have to at least pretend that you’re a conservative (like Rand Paul did.) Remember Wendell Ford? He was the last Democratic Senator from Kentucky and he was pro-life. Yes, a pro-life Democrat served in the U.S. Senate…because you have to be pro-life to win a U.S. Senate race here.
Elizabeth Hasselbeck expressed the Kentucky view on Ashley Judd’s wolf problem (albeit without mentioning us), on The View. (CLICK HERE for the video.) In a nutshell, you need to stop killing babies FIRST before you talk about wolves.
Ashley Judd supports NO RESTRICTIONS AT ALL on abortion. She supports Barack Obama’s abortion position 100% which includes infanticide, the killing of infants who survive an abortion. These children are left to die. (CLICK HERE for video showing Judd’s support for infanticide.)
Bring it, Ashley. We’re ready. If there is any Kentuckian who would make me vote for Rand Paul, it’s you.
