Stuart writes about “Lisa’s Identity Clause” and a light bulb went off in my head when I read this part.

We suffer that we may comfort those that suffer.

I looked that up. That is from Scripture.

who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

That one verse today has explained a lot to me about something. If you suffer and you associate with people who have not suffered, you’re not going to get much comfort from them.

Also, I think that it is natural for a Christian to sorrow deeply for others…but more on that later.
