About A Write-in (Protest) Vote

Some are complaining to me that a write-in vote is “helping Obama.” This is false. I am not responsible for the votes of other people. I am only responsible for my own vote. You are responsible for your vote. Each person is responsible for his own vote. If you make a mistake, I am not responsible for that mistake. You have to answer for yourself. I am not responsible for any vote but my own.

The religious freedom issue is not just hurting Mitt Romney. It is also hurting Barack Obama. No Catholic who cares about religious freedom should vote for either Mitt Romney or Barack Obama. Both believe states may decide the issue of “gay rights” and so both essentially have the same position. Only two days ago, Mitt Romney was saying in no uncertain terms that he is for “gay adoption.” Some claim that Mitt Romney supports religious exemptions. This “religious exemption” on gay adoptions is the same as the so-called “compromise” that Barack Obama has with the Catholic Church on contraception. What we need is a president who stands on Natural Law.

Today, George Weigel’s commencement address at Benedictine  College is published at National Review. I recommend you read it. If you do not understand or believe in these principles, then my 11-year-old would make a better president than you would. She understands and believes these things as it is “the moral logic which is built into human life.” She knows it is unthinkable to allow a child to be killed in the womb. She knows it would be unthinkable for her to be placed as an orphan into a home with two gay dads. It would be a living hell for my children. She knows it would be unthinkable to tell any church that they have to respect homosexuality as a healthy, normal choice or they must shut the doors of their adoption agencies. Because these things are unthinkable to her, she would make a better president than Mitt Romney or Barack Obama.

Even further, the Republican Party as a whole is averse to discussing the very serious attack on the Church in anything but superficial terms. Their pollsters are telling them that support for “gay marriage” is going up and so they should just chuck morality out the window so that they can win an election. This, despite the fact that Rick Santorum won ELEVEN STATES even as he was being smeared in the media as a fringe candidate who only talks about these issues. Further, thirty-one states have constitutional amendments preserving traditional marriage, with North Carolina winning passage of an amendment just a few days ago. What is happening is that the GOP establishment is pro-gay and wants to help Obama “fundamentally transform America” by chucking Natural Law once and for all.

VOTE FOR THAT??? ARE YOU CRAZY????

Many people in Germany voted for Hitler because they hated Stalin. I will not make that mistake, and I am not responsible for those who do make such a mistake as to vote for any person who rejects outright the founding principles of our country in such a manner that millions of children would suffer.
