Various press outlets are having a field day reporting on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops inquiry into the Girl Scouts to see if maybe they shouldn’t really be meeting in our Catholic churches anymore. Considering that the Girl Scouts have been known to partner with abortion provider Planned Parenthood and to propagate a not-so-Christian worldview, Christian parents are none too keen on letting their girls participate. If you’re Nancy Pelosi, it’s perceived as wonderfulness, but otherwise, nah.

Never fear! American Heritage Girls is here! I first heard about this alternative to the Girl Scouts a few years ago, from a Catholic mom friend. Then I heard about it from another Catholic mom friend, and then another, and another. As it turns out, American Heritage Girls is gaining in popularity. Don’t worry, it’s not just for Catholics, nor even just for Christians, but it does have a decidedly traditional worldview. You may want to be “counter-cultural” and check it out.
