If you have been keeping up with the latest news reports on Catholic bishops standing up against the “gay rights” movement and others who attack the Church in America, you have surely heard of a group called ‘Faithful America’ which is actively organizing opposition virtually anywhere and everywhere the bishops act. An example is their petition drive against Bishop Daniel Jenky. Let’s take a look at who these folks are, shall we?
The organization shares an address (1111 14th St NW, Washington, DC) with Faith in Public Life . According to Discover The Networks, Faithful America was founded as a “religious version of MoveOn.org” by the pro-Communist National Council of Churches and was re-launched by Faith in Public Life which itself was co-founded by Obama supporter Jim Wallis of Sojourners, also a pro-Communist organization.
From Discover The Networks profile on Faithful America:
In 2007 the organization Faith in Public Life (FPL) “acquired and began the re-launch of FaithfulAmerica.org.” That same year, FA undertook its own direct diplomatic engagement with Tehran when a delegation from the group met with then-Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and former president Mohammad Khatami, who had held that office from 1997-2005. Following the meeting, FA issued a number of demands (to the U.S. and Iran) that included, most notably:
- “Immediately engage in direct face-to-face talks.”
- “Cease using language that defines the other using ‘enemy’ images.”
After Barack Obama took office as U.S. President in 2009, FA became very active in promoting the socialization of the U.S. health care system. Toward that end, FA joined FPL, the PICO National Network, the Gamaliel Foundation, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, and Sojourners in an ad campaign that ran in Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Nebraska, and North Carolina. The same coalition led a “40 Days for Health Reform” initiative that sought to frame the issue as a biblical and ethical imperative.
It’s important to know who we are dealing with here. Mr. Obama is not a nice guy….and neither are his friends at “Faithful America.”
