If you are a registered voter in Kentucky’s Fourth Congressional District, I ask you today to vote for Alecia Webb-Edgington for Congress. It’s my understanding that there are a lot of candidates running for the seat being vacated by Congressman Geoff Davis, but there is only one who has stood out to me as having all of the qualities that I look for in a candidate for Congress: true conservatism, a record to back it up, humility and dedication. That candidate is Alecia Webb-Edgington.
There are a couple of bonuses that I can add. She’s the only candidate who has ever taken the time to reach out to me both personally and through her campaign. Although she has not asked for my vote, she and her campaign have sought me out to help get the word out about her candidacy. It’s no surprise to me that her campaign would consider me an ally when it comes to the issues I care most about considering that her stand on the issues is comparable to that of Rick Santorum whose candidacy I have strongly supported, and that it is backed up by her record in the state legislature.
It’s clear to me that Alecia Webb-Edgington shares the same commitment to service of the people that so many of us have admired about Rick Santorum. This is a fundamentally important quality to have in a candidate for office as so many seem so willing to forget this most important duty in representative government. I would sleep good at night knowing that Alecia Webb-Edgington is representing Kentucky in Washington, or at least, a part of Kentucky.
A couple of other bonuses, at least for me, are that she is a woman and also that she has a very clear Kentucky accent that she doesn’t try to gloss over. Some of you may think this is rather silly to consider as a bonus, but I think it would serve Washington well to hear a Kentucky accent giving them ‘what for’ on the budget and other issues. If anyone can do that, Alecia Webb-Edgington can.
While Senator Santorum has not made a recommendation in the Fourth District race, I would urge him and all Santorum supporters in that district to give Alecia Webb-Edgington a close look. She has more than earned my trust and my respect. Give her some of your time and I’m sure she will earn yours, as well.
