eks events with President Obama usurping the Constitution and stepping on the 1st Amendment of the Bill of Rights, rights that are not given to us, but rather, rights that are re-affirmed, I got to thinking about our shared history. On October 11, 1798 John Adams wrote to the Officers of the First Brigade, 3rd Division of the Militia of Massachusetts. “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.” A moral and religious people! A moral and religious people!
Setting aside the morality of abortion for the moment, let us focus on being a religious people. President Obama’s attempt at usurping our rights was fundamentally a statement of the liberal agenda and thus, a glaring example of how the left has designs on taking Religion out of the public square. The reason the left desires to take religion out of the public square is a simple one. When you take away peoples faith you leave them dependent on centralized power. This was classically illustrated in every Communist nation that has ever been. A people who believe in nothing greater than themselves, are easily led astray.
It also illustrated why Abortion is not looked upon as murder, but rather a “women’s choice issue.” If the left can successfully divert attention from the fact that abortion is the killing of human life and make you believe that it is a simple “preventative medical care” issue, then that is a government that can make you believe anything it wants. The way to take away the morality of the horror of abortion is to take away your faith, because without that faith, you have no respect for human life.
The fact is, from the MOMENT of conception there is individual DNA and its own blood type. It is therefore NOT an appendage of the mother. It will not be born a dolphin, nor elephant or a stalk of broccoli. It will be born human because the facts are, that unborn life IS HUMAN. Since 1973 we have MURDERED at least ½ million fellow Americans who never saw the light of day. It’s easy for liberals to have no respect for the unborn and say they have no rights because liberals are slowly but SURELY are eroding the rights of ALL Human life born and unborn. Margaret Sanger started this sick joke called abortion to eliminate “undesirables,” minorities, and the poor. Planned Parenthood was and is a fabricated lie of eugenics and many Americans have been suckered.
There is a reason our founding fathers picked up arms against a tyrannical government in Britain. It the same reasons my founding father in Texas picked up arms against a tyrannical government on 2 Aug. 1832 in Nacogdoches, TX. On that day Col Jose Piedras issued an order to Texans to hand in their firearms. The Texans refused and a battle ensued. A Mexican Battalion of 300 soon found themselves in flight that night for San Antonio after 100 of our forefathers fought house to house. Not to be let off so easy, Jim Carter, Jim Bowie & 15 mounted militia…. CITIZEN SOLDIERS… chased after these 300 regulars… catching them at Buckshot Crossing, on the Angelina River. A hellish up river fight ensued until Piedras took refuge in a home and was relieved of command by Maj. Medina who accordingly raised a white flag of surrender. His Battalion, 300 regulars to 17 Citizen Soldiers! PATRIOTS… You see the story is the same one. Just as Americans were invited into Texas by the Mexican government, who settled under a Constitution and laws guaranteeing them the rights and privileges that constituted an inducement to leave the land of their birth and seek a home among strangers and became Mexican citizens, as bona fide as though they were born on the soil, were permitted to enjoy the rights and immunities guaranteed to them by the Constitution, and laws under which they had settled in the country, they remained quite and obedient to the laws. But when the constitution under which the Americans had been invited into Texas was subverted by violence, and despotism erected upon the ruins of the Federal Union, the people of Texas met in solemn convention and declared their determination not to submit to this lawless usurpation. And it was by this usurpation of the Constitution that they finally took up arms against Santa Anna.
Patriots, I am not suggesting we take up arms against our Government, but the fact is, President Obama is usurping the Constitution and we find ourselves in an up river battle. Our modern day Jim Bowie is Rick Santorum and we are his mounted militia. Our Alamo is November 6, 2012, and just as Travis, Bowie, Crockett, and Bonham and many other noble hearts, who yielded their lives a willing sacrifice in the cause of human liberty, so shall we. Liberty and tyranny will always be in battle, so we can never accept defeat, simply look to our shared history. Whether it be Gen Washington crossing the Delaware and our America forefathers or my Texan forefathers – OVERWHELMING ODDS can be overcome and we are a mile UPRIVER in this battle heading for victory.
In Closing I can’t help but think about the present condition of our country both politically and morally for it certainly presents anything but a cheering prospect to the mind of either the Patriot or the Philanthropist. The only possible consolation we have is that which changed the mind of the father of our country in the darkest hour of the American Revolution, when sitting at midnight on the banks of the frozen Delaware on that memorable night of the 25th of December, one of his officers remarked that the prospect before them was a gloomy one. “yes sir” said the hero, “but we have this consolation – the darkest hour of night is great before the dawn of day.” This may be and I pray heaven is our own condition at present – we certainly have reached the darkest point and the light of regeneration may be about to dawn upon us.”
I believe that light of regeneration is Sen. Rick Santorum and I know his crossing of the Delaware will be as significant as that as Gen. Washington’s.
